I have been reviewing photographs from my road trip in 2011 that I had purposefully processed for their colors. They were ones I felt worked best in color and that presented and printed in all their vibrant glory. But recently I have been taking these same photographs to see if I can create a photograph just as vibrant but in black & white. Over the coming weeks, I will be posting the photographs where I felt I have achieved some level of success. Below is my first in this series and is of a sunset that was filled with shades of red, orange and yellow. These colors were especially strong against the silhouetted backdrop of the desert outside Holbrook Arizona. The small sphere in the lower left is the sun reflected in my lens.
