There is a game I play that I call ‘framing the image’. I know, that doesn’t sound very exciting. And I suppose it’s not really, but it does challenge me to find an image within an image. I have created a frame (7×17) that I move over photos I have already published, shared or for many many other reasons felt it was the image I wanted to show the world. So why find an odd cropping of an already nice photograph? Because I wanted to challenge myself to either find another image withing my photograph or to see if my image could be strengthened by eliminating parts. I doubt many of the results are exhibition worthy but it does help to train my eye to be more observant while I am out in the field. You won’t find these images having their own gallery on my website but you may recognize the parts in some of the galleries available. To see an image in it’s full, and “framed” glory, click on it.
